Can cold air on your neck cause a pinched nerve? Or any other condition??
Answers: The cold air won't directly cause a pinched nerve or anything, as it is just air. If it startles you and you move too quickly or end up falling or something you can always hurt yourself.
No, it won`t cause a pinched nerve, but it may cause a stiff neck, muscles tensed from the cold.
It could cause you to tense up your muscles which could put pressure nerves and cause pain. Aleve helps me with that kind of muscle pain and light massage.

just a stiff neck..
you moving fast or holding your neck/head unusually can cause the nerve to be pinched..
Cold air probably wouldn't actually cause a pinched nerve which is somewhat of a misconception in itself. Your spinal nerves in your neck, the nerve actually only occupies around 1/5 of the intervertebral foramen (different levels throught your spinal column where all the nerves of the body leave the spinal cord), with various other things to cushion it, mostly fat. So this means it is nearly impossible to pinch coming out of that area. If nerve entrapment occurs, it usually happens elsewhere beyond that due to hypertonic (tight) muscles, the course the nerve takes and tumors.
As far as other conditions, cold air can cause hypothermia or frostbite, but not really too many other musculoskeletal conditions the lone exception being if you tense up suddenly and strain a muscle, or entrap the nerve... which would be rare. If cold air caused you to tense suddenly to pinch your nerve, you probably would have a long and painful history of this particular nerve getting pinched. Cold air also reduces blood flow to the periphery of your skin, which in some people with cold allergies can be perceived as painful, but usually manifests as a rash that goes away a short time after exposure
To my knowledge, cold air cannot cause a pinched nerve. However, it could cause spasm of the muscles on the neck.
