Fish oil capsules and acne??

Question: has anyone succesfully treated their mild to moderate acne by taking fish oil supplements? Has anyone experienced worsening acne while taking fish oil supplements? Thanks!
Answers: You have to take care of the body on the inside as well as the outside, so... Omega 3 fatty acids do help quite a bit. It is a necessary part of the diet that cells require to replace healthy cells.. So, we have to have it as its necessary to survive.

Nordic Naturals is the purest fish oil

If you don't want an animal source, Flax Oil or Borage Oil from plants with Omega 3's are good for you, too.

Foods containing Omega 3's are organic nuts (soak them to get their enzymes activated, before you eat), seeds (sprout them first, to get enzymes activated, too), avocados, grains etc... The enzymes help to get rid of damaged tissues and replace with new youthful tissues. The Omega 3's help with cell wall integrity and anti aging affects.

Go for it.
I think it made me break out worse. I treated my acne my using Aveno clear complexion face wash and smearing antibacterial ointment before I went to bed. I also, take a multi vitamin and extra vitamin c which gave my skin a glow. I only break out that time of the month now and its not as bad.

Not sure which of the above is the true healer, so I continue all and have had great sucess.
Here's the thing... different people respond differently to different supplements. Because of that, everyone will have a different reaction to everything.

I started taking Fish Oil (among other things) after I started working here, and I have had less breakouts than I have in the past.... but if you already have enough of the nutrients that Fish Oil provides, it may make your skin more oily. Normally, when a product provides nutritional support for skin health, it helps to moisturize the skin.... but too much moisturizing (from an internal product) typically means you'll have oily skin.
On the other hand, there are also multiple causes of acne. If you have it because of the hormones in your system, there could be one of a dozen products that may help, but also may make it worse.
I'd say to give it a try... if you don't get help for your skin, it also helps for brain health and cardiovascular health.

If you would like to try something other than Fish Oil for your skin, you could try Omega 6 fatty acids (like GLA), Biotin, Silica (available naturally in Horsetail herb), MSM, and Hyaluronic Acid among the most popular items. Different people have different reactions to those different ingredients, so it's hard to say what may help most for you. I've personally taken Biotin (which helps for a lot of people), but it was too powerful for me, so it shows how different people can be.

Also, I hate to say it, but Laura J was actually pointing out Omega-6 fatty acids (whereas Fish Oil is Omega-3). Those are all very good for your skin health and she said several things that have good sources of Omega-6 fatty acids in them. She's right about the rest... Nordic Naturals is one of the better companies (I wouldn't say best , just because there are several companies that use the same purification processes as they do), and all the things she mentioned are non-animal source products that are good for skin health.
The measures to prevent and cure acne include diet, hygiene, nutritional supplements, and medicines. Maintain a consistent preventive and treatment program and acne will resolve. Natural treatments have no side effects.

The most important vitamins and minerals for acne eruptions are vitamin A from fish oil and zinc.

Take one tablespoon of cod liver oil or concentrated fish oil capsules with 1,500 mg EPA each day.

For people with especially oily skin, digestive (pancreatic) enzymes are important. Fats may not be fully digested and a supplement with meals will provide the enzymes for adequate break down of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, improving the digestive process.

Take acidophilus capsules: 1capsule, 2/day with meals.
