What is the best natural remedy for an upset stomach??
Answers: An upset stomach is generally because of excess stomach acid. Neutralizing some of the acid will help in most cases.
A natural remedy is simple sodium bicarbonate, which happens to be the active ingredient in most over the counter antacids. Buy a box of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda, and put a teaspoon in a cup of water. It will taste a little salty, which is normal. This salty taste is what you sense when the base (sodium bicarbonate) reacts with the natural acidity in your mouth. Not to worry. The sodium bicarbonate will act to neutaralize some of the acid in your stomach, and you will burp a bit beause the reaction in your stomach generates carbon dioxide. Like I said, a level teaspoon in a cup of water should help. Use more or less depending on how you feel afterwards.
I stopped using Pepto Bismol, Tums and Rolaids in favor of the simpler and far cheaper Arm and Hammer box which usually is parked in the fridge to absorb odors...
club soda and bitters. don't know how natural it is, but it always works!
ginger works for me
Drink warm water and avoid dairy. Or take things like Peptol-bismol.
ginger ale and plain tea with honey
the giner ale has natural ginger root which helps with upste stomachs and minor flu and colds, and the tea just relaxes you and the honey helps out
Lay flat on your stomach for half an hour.......
peppermint....I'd always use gum but you could go for something more natural like tea.
I always have my kids slowly sip on Coca Cola.... this never fails to sothe their tummies.
Fast for a day taking only a little warm water and honey occaisionally
I really like drinking 7 up when my stomach is upset. ANd i also like eating orange shurbet.
soda bi carb 250 mg +dry ginger powder 50 mg is best
Hi:
Try yogurt .... but take it diluted with water. You might not like the taste, but try it with a bit of salt or sugar before you go to bed. It has probiotic bacteria that stabilize and colonize your gut and it has excellent antacid properties. Keep up this for atleast a day and you are sure to feel better.
Cheers.
