I started using bentonite. do you have any experience taking it??
Question: i am using it for severe constipation :-(
along with a lot of water.
i am wondering if you have stories about using it, successful, not successful.
did you use it short or long term.
thanks!
Answers: Have you ever tried prune juice? I don't have a problem w/ constipation, but I can't even take a sip of that without it making some waves . Good luck- I have never heard of bentonite, but I will look it up.
It doesn't sound too good to me because of it's aluminum content- something linked to Alzheimer's disease.
There is always cascara, which is more natural, but you need to be careful with bowels- all your nutrients are absorbed there- you could be doing yourself quite a bit of harm, including severe fluid/electrolyte imbalance or dehydration (which would make the constipation worse) and cause yourself a heart attack among other things!
Plenty of water and exercise, and eating roughage, including oatmeal should be enough to get your bowel motility going in one direction- out!! Please check yourself for paralytic ileus or irritable bowel, or worse.
Calcium bentonite
The non-swelling calcium bentonite is sold within the alternative health market for its purported cleansing properties, yet no scientific studies exist to support these claims. It is usually combined with water and ingested as part of a detox diet, in a practice known as geophagy. It is claimed that the microscopic structure of the bentonite draws impurities into it from the digestive system, which are then excreted along with the bentonite. It is also claimed that native tribes in South America, Africa and Australia have long used bentonite clay for this purpose.
Calcium bentonite may be converted to sodium bentonite and exhibit sodium bentonite's properties by a process known as ion exchange . Commonly this means adding 5-10% of sodium carbonate to wet bentonite, mixing well, and allowing time for the ion exchange to take place.
Pascalite is another commercial name for the calcium bentonite clay.
Hi Marry, bentonite a very good product for help reverse constipation. Works great with Bowel Mover and/or Colon Conditioner. Not harsh on the system and does not cause bloating or discomfort. The best source of natural fiber! Use along with prune juice for best results.
One way to help get things moving is to increase your intake of potassium through eating foods it naturally occurs in. You remember your grandmother telling you to eat prunes to relieve constipation, right? Well that is because prunes are high in potassium!
Potassium works wonders on the walls of the colon and helps to stimulate peristaltic action which makes your bowels move. It also helps to clean out layers of mucus and dried fecal matter that have built up along the colon walls.
Other foods that contain potassium include: tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, kale, sesame seeds, wheat germ, brewers yeast, pineapple and cauliflower.

Bentonite, Hydrated supports the intestinal system in the elimination of toxins. Hydrated bentonite is made by suspending the microfine bentonite of USP-grade purity in purified water.
Take 1 tablespoon with a glass of water twice daily. Refrigerate after opening.Shake well before use.
Nope, am not using it . For treating constipation, i simply eat baked peanuts and in the next day it flows naturally. dont panic.
I use 100% Bran Cereal, that generally gets things moving and there is no problem with it . I hope you are on this medicine short term, The Bran cereal for breakfast, keeps you regular. Yogurt is also very good to have daily for intestinal health. Both available at the Super Market
