Adivan lorazepam lowering dose??
Question: hi icirrently take 1mg in the mourning and 2 at night i recently ran out and just taking 1 mg in the night i am feeling paranoid and kinda hot and dont want to go out is this normal if you lower down to one in the mean while? am going to pick up the rest soon but in the mean while am taking 1 mg is it normal and what can i do to cope with it?

start taking one in the am - one at night for at least 2 weeks
then starting taking 1/2 tap in am- 1/2 tab in pm
You need to go get your pills now. Do not wait just go get your meds. This is normal to feel like you do. There is nothing that will really help so get off teh computer and go pick up your pills.
as long as you do not stop the med completely you should not see significant side effects. You may want to speak to your doctor about lowering your dose if you can cope with only 1 mg. The least amout is always the best as long as you're getting the theraputic response you're looking for.
It is normal when going through withdraws from a benzodiazapine, that is not to say it is safe. You will experience a host of very uncomfortable and some dangerous effects physically, mentally and emotionally. As time goes by it gets even worse. Never cut your dose of these drugs more than 1/4 mill. every 2 weeks. If you run out and your doctor will not prescribe more, or is not available you'll be OK for about 24 hours, then you will begin to feel the effects. If you go to long and become uncomfortable immediately go to your local E.R tell them you are withdrawing from benzo's to fast and they will help you after checking your blood. Usually with an Adivan shot. Xanax is one of the hardest drugs, prescription or otherwise to withdraw from. It is in the same family as Adivan. However, it does not stay in your system as long as similar drugs so the withdraws will start earlier and be more severe. Never Attempt withdraw from benzo's without Doctors advice and monitoring. Complete respiratory failure is a great possibility if you are on a high dose or on any dose for an extended period of time and suddenly stop.
