Has anyone ever tried Vitex (Chaste Berry)??

Question: This is an herbal supplement used to regulate ovulation. I have not had a period for 7 years (was on depo provera). I have heard that this can induce ovulation.
Answers: Chasteberry (Vitex agnus castus) has long been used to treat premenstrual syndrome and other symptoms associated with PMS and menopause, including breast tenderness and mood swings. Several studies have confirmed its efficacy. In one such study, women with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, a severe form of PMS, responded equally well to treatment with the prescription antidepressant Zoloft® and treatment with the Vitex extract. In a placebo-controlled, double-blind study of premenstrual breast tenderness, Vitex proved significantly better than placebo at controlling discomfort.Vitex is well tolerated by a vast majority of patients and effectively controls mood swings and breast tenderness.

You might want to seriously consider having a blood test to check your hormone levels. A female hormone panel looking at:
Lipid Profile
Pregnenolone
DHEA Sulfate
Total Testosterone
Total Estrogens
Progesterone
TSH

Your doctor can write you a script for that and see what's going on. Then you can go from there knowing what the problem is and fix it.
