Does cranberry juice cure uriney track infections??
Answers: Like a lot of people have already told you, it'll only help prevent the occurence.
However, most urinary tract infections[UTI's] are caused by improper levels of water balance in the body.
To really clean out the urinary tract and to maintain clean blood and health, it's advisable to drink 8 liters of water every day. This will mean that you'll be using the toilet more often, but rest assured that your pipes will be flushed clean.
Do consult your doctor about the UTI, though; and also take his opinion about my advise. You'll find that he'll concur.
Merry Christmas!!!!!
its supposed to help. but, i would still see your doctor. if your prone to kidney stones then cranberry juice is the last thing you want.
No. It prevents the bacteria from being able to attack your urethra and bladder. It has certain natural properties that seem to line it and bacteria cant get through to bind to the walls and reproduce.
doesn't cure- but definately helps prevent worsening conditioning- drink it at first signs of a UTI, such as difficulty urinating or dark urine.
sorta. It was been proven to help fight UTI's and if drink regularly it can prevent them as well. However if you have a UTI cranberry juice can only cure it if the infection just started like a few hours ago or 2 days. Should probably go vist your Dr. ASAP he.she will give you some antibodies or whatever you call em. Don't be stubborn like me and wait a whole week before visiting your Dr. Trust it will just get worst and painful no matter how much cranberry jucie you drink.PLZ go to the Dr.!!!!! I beg you!
Does it cure UTIs ? no. Will it help to prevent them? Yes. Think of cranberry juice's affect on UTIs like vitamin C's affect on the common cold. Vitamin C will not cure a cold, but it will help you in not catching one in the first place.
no, it doesn't cure it, but it helps prevent it.
The reason you hear so much hype about cranberry juice is that it is a natural diuretic (a substance that tends to increase the flow of urine). Consequently, this will flush the fluids through your system much faster, thus greatly relieving the symptoms of the UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
Will it cure a UTI? No. But it will definately make you feel better. If you and your doctor conclude that you do have a UTI, he will perscribe a medication, and may suggest natural diuretics, or even just a lot of water to relieve the symptoms.

I had many infections and tried treating it with cranberry juice. what my doctor did for me, was clear UP the infection with medicine, then take 1 cranberry pill every night before bed. see, the cranberry juice has sugar in it, so it can fester infectionss... i don't use anti biotics for UTI's. I use this herb called USNEA UVA URSI...you can get it in any health food store, alternative market. and it works! don't use any cranberry product while using this becuase they balance eachother out. the key to clearing up your urinary track infections is to get better and stay better. our bladders have a clear lining that protects us from infections. if we keep getting infections, that lining goes away and then we are prone to them. so when you clear this infection up, take a cranberry pill each night for a month. its acid keeps bacteria from attaching to your bladder walls. trust me, i had an ongoing infection for a year. went to a urologist and everything for it. SUCKS! so please feel better soon!
drink lots of water, and stay away from sugar. that helps too. cut down on caffiene!
No, but is helps to get rid of the toxin in your bladder, keep drinking cranberry juice and water also, if you feel no relief in a day go see your Dr. Hope you feel better soon.
Doesn't cure it, but definitely helps with the symptoms.
I recommend it to all my patients.
years ago I would get alot of the same infections and my Dr. told me to stay away from colas and coffee, and to drink alot of cranberry juice and YES it does work!!! If I felt one coming on I would drink it and it would help.... good luck I remember the pain!!!
nope, but it will help it from getting worse, and help prevent it before u get it
Cranberry juice will not. However, eating cranberries or taking cranberry pills WILL cure your UTI.
The difference: the juice has large amounts of sugar added to make it more paletable. A urinary tract infection is a bacterial infection, and bacteria thrive when you throw them a bunch of sugar.
Cranberries- without the sugar- prevent this bacteria from 'sticking' in your urinary tract.
Cranberry pills can be purchased almost anywhere- Grocery store, Wal-Mart, etc etc, for around $5 a bottle. Take 4 pills twice a day for five days to cure a UTI.
What the doc won't tell you is use AlkaSeltzer. I didn't think it would work but when I started getting the signs of a track infection I used it. It worked. Take it just like the box says. If it doesn't go away after 2 doses then call the doc. It works best if you take it right at the 1st signs of an infection.
My friend strongly believes in this theory. I believe her for what it is worth.....LOL
