REVERSING STROKE DAMAGE??
Question: IS THERE ANY WAY POSSIBLE TO REVERSE BRAIN DAMAGE CAUSED BY A STROKE??? IT WAS MASSIVE. I WAS 21 AND I DID GET THE TPA
Answers: There are specialists in many fields that can help with the brain damage and even reverse the damage from stroke. The one I know the best is Chiropractic Neurologists, these are not just Chiropractors but have had years of specialized training in the brain and how to alter its function. Below are a few websites to look at but I have seen personally some amazing results that have come from a few of these Doctors especially Dr. Carrick. He teaches many of the Neurologists and his website may be able to find someone close to where you live. There are not very many of theses types of Dr.'s so you may have to drive a little. Otherwise just look in the phonebook under Chiropractic if there are any in your area they will usually explain it in there ad but if not they will have Name#####, D.C.,DACBAN.
They will evaluate you and find the areas of the brain damaged in the stroke. Then give you specific exercises to start to work that area of the brain. Many of the exercises you can do at home, and can be a wide variety of things to do depending on the areas damaged. Be careful to do the exercises they way they explain and for the right amounts. The brain is not like a muscle where a little bit of exercise is good, a little more is even better. The brain or neurons will only function and get stronger to a point, then if you continue to exercise it you can then kill the neuron you are trying to make stronger. They can expliain in detail what they are doing and how it works. I can tell you that it does work and many people have had stroke damaged areas strengthened with them. It is a rapidly growing area of expertize, but still there may only be 5 or 6 in each state qualified to work on you. Good luck.
so sorry to hear about your problem. At your age you shouldn't be going thru all this. My suggestion is to ask your doctor about extensive physical therapy. Sometimes your brain can be retrained to work right. It may or may not make you totally back to where you were but any help can make all the difference in the world. Let it be known that you have a long haul ahead of you and the work will be hard but you will see it will be worth it. Good Luck and my God grant you a speedy recovery.
