Is it safe to take iron supplements with Metamucil? Will they cancel each other out??

Answers: as far as I know, Metamucil just provides fiber which should not negatively effect the abosorption of an iron supplement.

be careful with iron supplements ... unless you take low doses (i.e. RDA amount) or you are absolutely sure you are iron deficient, you can do a lot more harm than good. a doctor can tell give you a simple blood test to determine if you really need more iron in your diet.

iron is absolutely essential to carry oxygen in the blood BUT the key is that it is needed in the right amount. overloading your body with iron is extremely toxic and can silently damage your kidneys. (did you know that iron poisoning is the most common poisoning in young children?)
They won't cancel each other out because Metamucil is a fiber supplement so I think they will be safe together.
