Does olivie oil get rid of ear wax??

Question: does it get rid of ear wax fast or does it take ages thanks
Answers: warm oil helps soften it up
ewwwww i dont know but thats grosss
yes but only the mellow
i dont think i would ever put oil in my ear.
i know hydrogen peroxide does.
they make a special oil for ear wax removal. you can find it in your local pharmacy. Or i use peroxide once in a while let it sit about three minutes in each ear. then clean with a q-tiop.
it is recommended by many doctors, when used regularly, warmed slightly, it can help prevent the build up of wax and often eliminate the need for syringing.
from personal experience works better than prescription wax softening drops.
warm olive oil on a teaspoon over hot water for a few seconds.
olive oil only loosens the wax
you have to take it out
let a Dr do it for you and you
wont end up hurting yourself
Olive oil is the old fashioned way of softening ear wax and yes it is a bit messy, there are a lot of ear wax softeners out there ,a good one is Boots Duel Action Ear Wax Remover.
my doctor told me to use Peroxide [ a few drops in each ear ]. She says that is what they use when they flush our patients ears.

I use it on my pets too and we have never had to have a vet or dr. do for us.
Gosh long time since I heard that , Yes you can use olive oil my mum god bless her used to do that to my brother´s & I. She put the oil in a small glass bottle and left it on top off the gas fire to warm up . Then put a little in each ear hole, may be this is why I have extra super hearing
I've been bothered with wax in my ears all my life. Never used olive oil though. Ask your chemist for ear drops to soften the wax and a 'balloon' to wash it out with. Good luck.
yeh i am using it as we speak, it definitely helps, just tip a bit in your ear, massage it in bit and stick some cotton wool, it takes away the pain almoast instantly its great!
I'm not sure about olive oil,but ear candeling will. You can purchase these at vitamin stores or herb stores. You place them in your ear and light them. The heat draws out yeast and wax.Try two per ear.
NO NOT OLIVE OIL BUT I THINK POPEYE OR BLUTO MIGHT.
I've tried a lot of different methods. Use the tiniest amount of baby oil rubbed thin on your fingertips and then applied around the outer surface of the ear canal. Don't go digging. The ear works like a self-cleaning oven and thinning the wax at the ear opening draws out the wax. If your ears have compacted wax, go to the doctor.

Olive oil, in my experience, is just too heavy and gunky. Stinks. Makes a bigger mess. Those over-the-counter remedies also make a terrible mud in your ear. Try a bulb syringe in the shower, if need be, being careful not to use too hot of water (it will make you dizzy). And then the baby oil.
Hi,
i have been having ear wax trouble the past few weeks. I actually got them syringed today. Olive oil heated (just warm not roasting) is the best thing to use to soften ear wax. The nurse today told me that she had been on a course just last week about ear syrunging and they told them that olive oil is the only thing you shoudl really use and I agree as i was using Cermol for afew days and it wasn't great.
It depends on how soft the wax is, on how longit would take to come out using olive oil...it could take a while and contiuously using drops can be annoying, however they probably recommend you try that first to see if it works.

Even before you get your ears syringed by your surgery nurse or doc (usually nurse) you have to have been using oil to soft the wax for a minimum of 5 days before hand and in my surgery you need a doctor to approve too. It's a very handy way of getting rid of the wax, its painless, they basiclly just squirt watter into your ear using a wee plastic tube...it's nothing to worry about, infact i found it quite relaxing....was pleasently surprised as i was quite anxious...

so i advise you to try the olive oil, twice a day (2-3 drops) heated on a spoon or something...for about a week..if you feel its not helping or the wax has not come out go see yoru doctor and ask to have it syringed.

They will only syringe your ears so many times (in your life, well with that surgery anyway) really as they are aware that the ear is a sensitive organ

Best of luck, hope that's helped a little
x
You can't get rid of ear wax fast.
Olive oil softens any impacted wax and allow it to come out naturally. Your ears are self cleaning.

Forget about ear syringing, most places don't do it now because of the risk of trauma to your ears. It's a high risk procedure.
I stopped doing it years ago.
Yes, My dad uses that before he has his ears syringed at the G.P, it softens it for removal...
I'm a bit old fashioned and I recommend olive oil rather than branded wax solutes. If there is only a small amount of wax it may dissolve it. If there is a lot it will soften it and facilitate wash out.
i believe so, but its far better to buy a special ear drop that's designed to clear it
A few drops of hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) for a few minutes given while you are lying on your side so the liquid cannot drain, followed by a cotton swab, will get rid of excess ear wax.
Hydroegen peroxide (avail. from Boots,Asda etc) is very good, you only need to put in a couple of drops in one ear, turn your head so it doesn't drip out, then it'll fizz & clear out the wax(you need to keep it for a few minutes).then repeat for other ear.
Oilve oil si good to put on cotton buds for general cleaning, it also helps to prevent the cotton woll from the buds to not stay in your ear as it happened to me & I had a build-up & had to have my ear washed out.
i believe it loosens the wax, but also the doctor at kaiser told me to use a stool softener in my son's ears because he got big clops of wax which were too hard to remove, so the doc used a liquid stool softener, which, believe it or not, worked. i know a doctor who used hydrogen peroxide in my ear it tickles, but works.
Be careful messing with your ears. And iit is Sweet oil that I hear is what is to be used. And I would ask a pharmacist about doing that or a specialist.

Do you know that if you get a severe enough ear infection, it leads right directly to your brain, which can lead to death! The best thing, if your ears are not hurting or bothering you....DON'T MESS WITH THEM TO BEGIN WITH!
For decades Grandma's cures have prescribed warm oil mustard/olive has been used at night in the ears and it is a time tested cure it softens the wax and with an ear bud next morning you can clean the ear
Yes, it will soften the wax and aid its removal. It will only take e few days to work.
I heard mineral oil..it takes a day or two to break up and flush out.
You put 2 or 3 drops of ordinary olive oil down the ear 2 or 3 times a day for 3 weeks. This softens the wax so that it then runs out of its own accord. It does not harm the ear. You can continue for any length of time, but 3 weeks is usually enough. Surprisingly, you will not necessarily see wax come out. It often seems to come out unnoticed. If, after 3 weeks or more, you are still deaf from wax, you will need to make an appointment with a doctor to decide what should be done.

If you have a build up of wax repeatedly, you can keep it free by putting olive oil down twice a week.

Wax normally comes out of the ear with the skin of the ear canal which grows from deep inside and moves to the outside over about 2 weeks.

Or you can use an eyedropper to apply a few drops of baby oil, or mineral oil, or glycerin or hydrogen peroxide in your ear canal twice a day for several days. This will soften the wax.

After a day or two when the wax is softened, use a 3-ounce rubber-bulb syringe to gently squirt warm water into your ear canal. Tilt your head and pull your outer ear back to straighten your ear canal. When finished irrigating, tip your head to the side to let the water drain out. Repeat until the extra wax falls out.

When finished, dry your outer ear with a towel or a hand-held hair dryer. Dry your inner ear by applying one full eyedropper of rubbing alcohol, then tipping your head to the side to drain the alcohol.

You may need to repeat this wax-softening and irrigation procedure several times before the excess earwax falls out. However, the softening agents may only loosen the outer layers of the wax. If your symptoms don’t improve after several treatments, see your doctor.
My Doc says the only thing you should ever put in your Ear is your Elbow!
dear use musturd oil. 1-2drops a day. it will take some time it will be cleaned out. if wax is very old take more of time. or fil it and cover it and count for 100. clean it . it will relieve very soon
