Do magic mushrooms have any long term effects??
Answers: It can actually cause you brain to bleed leading to an increased number of brain cell death and the blood to drip down you spinal column causing swelling, inflammation , and possible meningitis resulting in paralysis or death.
not that i know of
No. As soon as you realize that they're not really magical, they're powers cease.
There are a few documented cases of hallucinogens causing a mild psychosis that lasts for years. This is probably because the patients in question had underlying psychological problems, and the drugs made them have what is known as a psychotic break.
What I mentioned above is the exception and not the rule. The real danger with this kind of drug is the sort of things that people will do while they are on them. I have seen otherwise sane, rational people do things such as stab themselves, jump out of windows, wander into traffic, etc.
You also run the risk of somebody growing or harvesting the wrong kind of mushroom. This can have deadly consequences.
In this case, the risk does outweigh the benefits. My advice is to just stay away from drugs, but if you REALLLY are going to do something anyway, stick to pot.
Maybe in your liver, which you have to have a liver or you will die. A few times a year probably would be okay. However, if you do it frequently it may cause so much liver damage that it could lead to liver disease. The bad thing is you must be aware of exactly how strong the mushrooms are because they are toxic, and if you do too much at one time your liver will not be able to break down the poison fast enough and you can die. Be careful, and make sure that you are able to get to a hospital if you need to have your stomach pumped. This happens frequently when people boil them into a tea. The strength depends on the amount of mushroom boiled. This can be dangerous, especially if the people making the tea are idiots that may think it is funny to nearly kill a person for fun. I have heard many horror stories that were told to me by reliable people. Educate yourself as much as possible before you do anything. When I say educate. I don't mean by asking your friends or by asking people on yahoo answers. Most of the people on here are idiots too. Any other long term effect would be hard to connect directly with magic mushrooms; however, that is not saying that ultimately it may effect brain chemistry. We live in a society of prozac and zoloft and tons of legal drugs that are pushed by drug companies and doctors, all these effect and are supposed to fix, but could screw up as well, brain chemistry. My advice is to only partake in magic mushrooms if you are in a completetely safe environment, with trustworthy people, used only towards gaining enlightenment, not just for a good time. If you are doing it for a good time__ you may regret it. In fact, it could be your worst experience you will ever have in your life. That has been the case in at least 2 of my reliable sources of whom vow never to do shrooms again no matter what. Be careful and cautious. You may want to stick to just reading about it for now.
