What's a good natural anti-septic??
Question: I've been using a natural anti-septic to clean my face. It's called Tea Trea Oil. But I was wondering if there is something out there that is not an oil because I don't want it to clog my pores. Does anyone have an idea?
Answers: Tea tree oil will not clog the pores of your face, although it is better used as a spot treatment applied directly to a breakout. For general skin cleansing, witch hazel is a better and cheaper after cleaning wipe down. Plain old soap and water does a good job of cleaning overall, just keeping the face clean and removing dirt, while killing some bacteria. Witch hazel also has some antiseptic properties and is soothing to skin as well. Steam facials help open pores to aid in removing clogs, followed by a cool witch hazel wipedown. Apply your tea tree oil directly to spots before bedtime. Otherwise, keep your hands away from your face and don't pick, poke or squeeze. If you like, once a week you can use a clay facial to help mechanically remove blackheads, but not more than that or you will dry your face too much. My teens follow this routine- they wash their faces in the morning and again at night, with a basic soap and rough textured cloth. Afterwards, they use a cotton wipe to wipe down their face with witch hazel. At night, after the witch hazel, they put on a drop of tea tree oil directly to any spots in the making or blooming. Once a week we do a steam facial, and wipe down with cool witch hazel afterwards. Once a week we use a clay facial for blackhead removal, and if needed we use the strips for the nose to do the same thing. They have very little trouble with breakouts as a result. If you are a girl, keep the makeup to a minimum, use base or powder only rarely, and a powder blush if needed/wanted. If you are a guy, use a clean new razor for each shave, and be careful to wash your face with warm water afterwards to get all the cream off. Then wipe down with witch hazel to close your pores and kill bacteria. Keep your hair out of your face and your hands away, eat a decent balanced diet and you should do just fine.
Aloe Vera Gel and it is good for skin.
witch hazel is good to use.
Try using a mixture of Natural sunflower oil mixed with clean water and honey - this will cleanse your face and leave it feeling fresh :)
Plant-based oils will not clog your pores--only mineral oil will do that as it is derived from petroleum. Stick with tea tree oil(diluted only please). Good stuff:)
Many people recommend witch hazel. Hydrogen peroxide will kill germs and dissolve dead skin, but it is not quite as natural because you should not drink it.
Tea tree oil is great and don't worry, even though it's called an oil I promise it won't clog your pores so don't even worry about that! It's a very non-oily oil. But other than that, witch hazel is great just use it with a cotton ball. Apple cider vinegar is great for the complexion
you might try rosewater
