How can we understand the quality of ayurvedic medicines? Whom should we contact for lodging complaints??

Answers: Regarding the Quality of the medicine, there is a legal binding for the manufacturers to mention what the indigents are used.
U can get it verified at the laboratory,
Regarding complaining u should firstly address Ur complain to the company then the drug controller at the local level.

The best way of knowing whether you have had a good treatment is if you try out a few different therapists who offer the same therapy. If you have been for an ayurvedic treatment and do not feel happy with the outcome, you can either make a complaint to the therapist themselves or the health centre manager. However, if you feel this is not enough and think the therapist has broken their code of conduct in some way, you can contact their governing body directly. You can request this information from the therapist/ centre manager. Any holistic practitioner must be fully qualified, belong to and be insured by a professional oragnisation. A good therapist will not be offended if you ask them to show you their certificates.
Most of the ayurvedic medicines are made from herbs. And these herbs contain innumerable number of chemicals which is almost impossible to isolate, especially in compounded forms, with easy lab investigations or other tests. So it is very difficult practically to understand the quality of ayurvedic medicines. You can ask your doctor to help you in this regard. Or you can prepare simple ayurvedic medicines by yourself at home. Taste alone is not a criteria for the quality though it is propagated so. Ayurvedic medicines , especially kashayams are chemically preserved which definitely will alter their natural efficacy. Powdered herbs are a reliable alternative.
Anyway, on solid grounds you can complain to the drug controller of the concerned stat and also the consumer protection groups.
