Chakra questions??
Question: Anyone know of some good books on Chakras?
Any good tips/techniques you would advise for developing a healthier energy flow?
Answers: I can see that many have answered this question in it's entirety, however, I would like to caution you on focusing energy on specific centers since someone on the board suggested that she likes to focus her thoughts on the center between her eyebrows. You need to be cautious about what you focus your thoughts on because you can unbalance your system, causing all kinds of ills to befall you if you don't know what you're doing. Many books out there focus on this as well, without having much more knowledge than what has been written in books that they have read or stories that they've heard. In other words, they aren't much of an authority either. If you can find any books on chakras by Rosalyn Bruyere, such as Wheels of Light, I can vouche for her ability as a psychic and a seer. I studied under Rosalyn at the Healing Light Center in Glendale, California and she has done extensive research in the field of medicine and chakra/energy field balancing. She is a reputable and current healer that can give you great insight into what you are trying to learn about.
If you go along your life path, meditating as you go, you'll find that the energy centers will open of their own accord and in their own time, when you are ready to handle the energy that comes through.
That said, I hope that you are careful with what you are doing and spend more time on meditating and developing your sense of compassion, rather than focusing your awareness on energy centers that ignorance on your part may end up causing you greater harm than good.

According to kundalini yoga, a chakra (pronounced chuckrah and meaning wheel or circle in Sanskrit) is a center of prana or energy. It is said that there are several of these that begin at the base of the spine and end at the top of the head. Kundalini yoga uses physical postures and concentration to increase and focus prana to make union with the Absolute.
In theosophy, the chakras are said to reside in the astral body. Anchored within our physical bodies, our chakra system serves as an energetic interface linking energy without — with energy within.
Chakra Seven:
Thought, Universal identity, oriented to self-knowledge
This is the crown chakra that relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss.
Chakra Six:
Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection
This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us see the big picture.
Chakra Five:
Sound, Creative identity, oriented to self-expression
This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language.
Chakra Four:
Air, Social identity, oriented to self-acceptance
This chakra is called the heart chakra and is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is related to love and is the integrator of opposites in the psyche: mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, have a deep sense of peace and centeredness.
Chakra Three:
Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition
This chakra is known as the power chakra, located in the solar plexus. It rules our personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism. When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power.
Chakra Two:
Water, Emotional identity, oriented to self-gratification
The second chakra, located in the abdomen, lower back, and sexual organs, is related to the element water, and to emotions and sexuality. It connects us to others through feeling, desire, sensation, and movement. Ideally this chakra brings us fluidity and grace, depth of feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to accept change.
Chakra One:
Earth, Physical identity, oriented to self-preservation
Located at the base of the spine, this chakra forms our foundation. It represents the element earth, and is therefore related to our survival instincts, and to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane. Ideally this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence.
Google Ti Chi. It is all about the manipulation of energy and connecting with the universal or GOD;s energy and alowing it to pass through you for healing, energizing, relaxing the only limits are your imagination. You will find a diagram and explenation of the different chakras there also. Great stuff. GOD Bless and happy meditation.
