Sedation.. having wisdom teeth out...??

Question: i having my wisdome teeth taken out and i being sedatied what does it feel like? has anyone had it done?
Answers: Being sedated is like drinking 1 to many pints, you will feel very sleepy and really peaceful, bear in mind you are being sedated so you will not be put to sleep completely.
You will still be able to understand what the dentist is saying to you, for instance if he/she asks you to touch your nose you be able to understand him/her, but after the procedure you wont really remember much of what went on.
You have no fear of being molested, as if your treatment is carried out under the correct manner you should have 2 dentists present, one to administer the drug and the other to carry out the extraction,a dental nurse will also be present and should hopefully be qualified both in dental nursing and dental sedation.
Once the treatment is finished it's recommended that you dont drive, drink, sign legal documents! and you should also bring an escort with you to escort you home again!
Good luck you'll be fine!
Last year.I didn't feel anything. But i could hear the unworkings.
You dont need to be sedated, just get a local. Havnt you heard all the horror stories of people being molested in the dentists office while they are under?! Tell them you want a local!!
it is truth medicine---it will make u tell the truth and tell people u love them like u are drunk---it's hilarious and crazy---u will feel light headed and naseau afterwards

and u might puke
from my knowledge sedation is the fair way to go.you will feel pretty rough for a few days but dont worry it will soon be right.it is better than the awful pain it can cause when you havnt had it done.best wishes.
ure kinda sleepy - awake but unaware of wots going on and u wont remember afterwards. or thats wot its supposed to be like.
You fall asleep. When you wake up, the tooth is gone. Wonderful!!
it is fun haha...... u get knocked out wake up feeling drunk ...
if i had the option id wanna be sedated !!! I hate the dentist but saying that iv heard so many stories of people being sedating and it going wrong but then again there are risks to everything!
As long as it s a qualified dentist im sure you will be in good hands
All I know is that the nurse told me to count backwards from 10, the next thing I remember is being woken up and taken home. It was nothing to be afraid of.

BTW...I had a local when I had a previous dental surgery, and they didn't fully numb the area! I felt a LOT of the surgery!!
When I had mine out, I was totally put under. I woke up and they put me in a wheelchair and my mom drove me home. Then they gave me mepergans for pain, so I was pretty much asleep for about 3 days afterwards. The only somewhat painful part was the sockets (holes) that are left, you have to waterpick food out of them after you eat for about 2-3 weeks so you don't get an infection (called dry sockets). It's not bad at all, dont listen to horror stories. Good luck!
I'm a dentist.

Not only did I have my wisdom teeth out under IV sedation, I have also performed many sedations myself.

The medications work quickly, and provided you are not one of those people who is resistant to the effects, onset is quite quick. Literally within 30 seconds, you should start to feel the effects.

Some of the medications, especially Decadron (a steroid given to help minimize swelling) can cause temporary itching. Beyond that, it's a very pleasant process as far as you're concerned.
When I had my wiz tooth pulled December of 06, the oral surgeon stuck a needle into gum side of the wiz tooth. He left the room for 15 minutes, came back, and began sticking in it. Once it was numb, it took 2 minutes for the tooth to come out. He prescribe Vicoden for pain told me to stay away from brushing for the rest of the day. Stitches desolves in less than 2 weeks. Don't even mess with the stitches, it'll cause problems with your gums. Hope you feel better.
you feel see and hear everything the thing is when its wore off you dont remember a thing-its cool
numb,a solid sensation
