Will you share with me your wisdom tooth horro stories??

Question: I'm having all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in a month. What can I expect afterwards? Recovery time? Pain? Personal experience opinions recommended.
Answers: it's not bad if there are no other problems with them (i.e impaction). It's no different than any other dental work except for your tongue getting used to new dimensions in your mouth (Which might take time). You'll be down for the day, no more unless there are complications. It's very straight forward procedure.
I remember one of the dentists that did pulled mine was Dr. Pepper. I guess I'll never forget a name like that !
A lot of dirty pillows from all the saliva/blood that comes after...lol.

But it'll go away and all will be back to normal. No worries.
omg that was the worst pain in my life
i couldnt eat talk drink
it was horrible
i had my wisdom teeth out....i had all four at the same time and i got infection in all four at the same time. i was black and blue right after it all happen. my parents told me that my dead grandmother looked better
I had all mine done at once. I recommend getting put completely out for it, not just numbing meds. The doctor put pain meds and an anti-inflammatory into my IV while I was being put out. When I woke up I had no pain or swelling. I never used any additional pain meds. The only bad thing was I felt a little uncomfortable about 3 days later & had some slight swelling. I even ate normal food the day after. Get a good oral surgeon.
I'm supposed to have mine out too, but I keep putting it off, too chicken. The dentist told me the root was growing too close to a nerve, and when they take the teeth out there was a chance the nerve could be damaged and I could lose sensation in half my face and tongue!!! How reassuring is that? I'm freaked out about it. I don't want to look like I had a stroke the rest of my life, so for now, I'll deal with the pain.
I personally didn't have much pain, but I think I was so doped up that i can't remember a thing about it if I tried. However, one of my friends said that she wasn't really asleep during the whole procedure, and kinda woke up halfway through, but was so groggy that she couldn't say anything, and yeah she had a lot of pain during the procedure. Be prepared to eat tylenol 3 like it's going out of style though.
in a month???? i got them removed (all 4 of em) in 2 week straight.

well the stitches itch a lot..the timely medicines give you relief... was sick of having cold soup, ice creams.

one good thing. i lost weight :)
i was just going to have them do a local anasthetic instead of putting me out but then i could hear the drill grinding away on another person so i pussed out and had them put me out. the first day doesnt hurt that bad, then days 2 through about 4 or 5 i had a dull ache. i just used ibuprofen, i never got the prescription painkillers. i didnt think it was that bad, people make it sound like its horrible and youre down for a week, but i had mine done in the morning and went to work in the afternoon. didnt keep me down, dont know if it varies from person to person or if others are just pansies.
i didnt have a dentist and my left wisdom tooth became infected the pain was unreal for almost 2 weeks straight i couldnt sleep or eat it was a nightmare so i finally went insane and swigged off half a bottle of vodka swilling it round my mouth as i swallowed it i then sat down in my garage plugged the dremel in and drilled straight into the little monster shattering it all over along with my drill bit and the pain just exploded in my head a thousand times worse for a few seconds i was howling and screaming in pain and then it just stopped and i passed out and woke up 6 hours laters with just a slight soreness which eventually went and i have never had a problem with it since and that was 4 years ago now, though i do still have half a dead shattered wisdom tooth in my mouth lol.
If you do this, does this mean you will lose all of your wisdom?
