Why do I remember my wisdom teeth surgery? My surgeon said the IV sedation would cause total amnesia.??

Question: I remember all of it. The rotary saw thing, the nurse yelling at me to keep still. Even the surgeon telling me I was talking too much. I was telling them it was hurting. Now, I have bad dreams and think about it all the time. It's been a month and 2 days since the surgery. Should I do anything?
Answers: Gee, surgeons really do have a sense of humor.
I'm sure your dentist was basing his remark on his general experience. Not everyone is the same. I think you just need to let go and not let it bother you any more. The more you dwell on something the more it will interfere in your daily life. Move on to something else. It's possible that once you tell yourself that it was nothing, that you remembered although the dentist said you shouldn't that you'll be able to move on.

I had two impacted wisdom teeth removed about 20 years ago - I still remember parts of it, but it wasn't something that I obsessed about so it has never bothered me.
