What can I use at home to put on an abcess on my gums??
Question: my gums are swolen theres a hard white bump on it
Answers: Ouch
Use ambesol or orajel until you can get to a dentist.
there is a peroxide for your mouth..forget what it's called but if you go to the pharmacy at CVS or Walgreens, ask for mouth peroxide..it clears infection..if it doesn't..go see the doc
use whiskey gargle with it. it will numb it alittle and draw out the abscess
You should go to the dentist so that they can give you the right medication to treat it. Don't let it go for too long, it could get worse.
YES, AND HAVE THE DENTIST TAKE A SAMPLE OF THAT STUFF IN YOUR ABSCESS AND SHOW YOU AN UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL VIEW OF IT...YOU WILL WANT TO SPEW, THEN YOU WILL WANT TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF THINGS! ITS FIXABLE WHICH IS GOOD.
An abscess may or may not go away on it's own. Usually a dentist will give you an antibiotic to clear it up before doing any dental work, but as for home remedies.......
Listerine is best (the orange isn't too bad) for keeping your gums healthy. Hydrogen peroxide used as a mouth wash also works though it gets a bit foamy.
Personally I like using Carmex. It is a bit hard to get it to stay where you want it in your mouth, but it works real good and is inexpensive. It is more of a lip balm that heals cankers sores, fever blisters, etc.
If you are having tooth pain, a pinch of ground cloves will numb the pain for a while. Not the best tasting, but it works for those of us who put off the dentist if we can.
Are you sure it's an abcess? Try some salt water rinses until you can get to the dentist to get it checked out.
