My son needs braces. what is the appropriate age to begin wearing them??

Answers: After he has lost his baby teeth, and has his adult teeth. In severe cases something can be done earlier, but orthodontist prefer to work on kids with their adult teeth.

Talk to a dentist or orthodontist to find out if your son could have this done already.
once all of his affected adult teeth have grown in.
after the jaw has reached maturity. Don't let any dentist tell you otherwise. If a child's jaw is still too small the growth of the jaw will just undo all the work the braces were meant to correct. Also, if it's possible, make sure the dentist allows for wisdom tooth room, or when those teeth come in, it will undo all that work again. That's a lot of money to just throw away.
i think the sooner the better probably around 8 or 9 that way when they get to high school they'll have perfect teeth
Once he looses all the baby teeth and the grown up teeth grow in. If an orthodontist wishes to put the braces on before the teeth are grown in then you should get a second opinion. But check with an orthodontist also before considering braces.
