Toothache!! Please Help??
Question: I cant get to the dentist until tomorrow evening. I am in excrutiating pain. What can I do to dull the pain and just make it until tomorrow?
Have tried tylenol, peroxide, orajel.
Answers: Get some clove oil and apply it to the tooth. Don't use too much or it will burn your gums, but it really does help to alleviate it.
Another thought, get some chewable baby aspirin and let it dissolve on the actual tooth. You can do this with regular aspirin, but it tastes awful. To apply the aspirin right on the tooth seems to help as well.
Last idea, at Wal-mart or K-Mart or a Walgreens or something like that, you can often find a temporary cement kit that will allow you to cement over the problem if it is an open cavity that is causing the pain. (The kit often contains clove oil, by the way, so you could kill two birds with one stone.) This is found in the toothpaste/floss, etc. section.
chew on ice
Any cankersore would do. =)
put a toothbrush on it but don't press 2 hard. sleeping is good cause while ur sleeping u can't feel it. good luck!
since you have tried most things ,not too much else will help =have you tried to hold a warm heated cloth against the side of your mouth the aching tooth is
toothaches are the worse i know!!! try aleve its an anti imflammatory and will help. most likely u have an infection in the tooth n will be put in antibotics but n the meantime try aleve. good luck!
A hot toddie! Some whiskey warmed up put on the tooth that is aching, an old Scottish method but it works!
if you were in Turkey, everybody would recommend you to put some RAKI (which is a traditional drink with a high alcohol ratio) on your tooth,
but moving from that point, maybe we can conclude that it can be useful to put some alcoholic stuff
cut a good enough piece to fit on the tooth that is hurting or any pain on the body and it will take the pain away. P.S. REMEMBER TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS REFRIGERATED IT'S A BETTER SOOTHING FEELING
concentrate on something else. I have braces and they KILL!!!!!! Eating ice cream helps cuz it's cold.
good luck :-)
I've been in that situation before and Advil (ibuprofen) worked better than any other OTC product for me. I had to take three and I had to repeat the dose every 4-6 hours. This is WAY over the recommended dose, but doing it for a short time, and staying well hydrated should be okay. Other than that, you could call your dentist (they often have a call service for off hours) and explain your situation and ask for something stronger like Vicodin or Percocet.
Heat may help, too.
Take an over the counter pain med., something you would get for a headache. Also, rinse your mouth in warm salt water, I read in a home remedy book that is good. Also, Anbesol is good, it helps numb the area. Another thing is a clove, which also numbs the area. See if your mom has some cloves. Any of the above should give you temporary relief until you see the dentist.
Crush an aspirin mix with a little water to make a paste rub the paste directly on the site on the pain. Be careful to to ingest too many pain relievers. Ibuprofen and Tylenol can be toxic to the kidneys and alcohol mixed with pain relievers can cause stomach irritation. To relax and take your mind off the pain try mint tea (room temperature so that it doesn't cause anymore pain) and the scent of lavender to make you sleepy. Hope that you are feeling better soon!
