Can electric toothbrush do harm??
Question: I've bought that thoothbrush and I don't know if it can harm my teeth! Maybe I just don't know how to use it.. Can these movements of the brush make little by little the movements of the teeth and so make them be weaker? My teeth roots started to hurt after brushing like that :S! Maybe I just do this for a long time or uncorrect?
Thank you,
Maria :)
Answers: using an electric tooth brush is actually less harmful then a regular toothbrush.Using a regular tooth brush made my gums bleed but when I used an electric tooth brush the bleeding stoped.I used it for about a year and it worked great.
Hopefully, your new brush came with an instruction sheet. Please read them completely before using again.
Some models - such as the Sonicare Elite - have a pressure sensitive head, so that it shuts off if you press too hard.
Generally speaking, you should not use any pressure with an electric toothbrush. Just hold it gently against your teeth and move it around the tooth surfaces...let the brush do the work.
Next time you see your dentist (and you still need to do that at least twice a year no matter what brush you own), bring the brush with you and have the hygienist show you the best method of brushing.
