Answers: Call the office where you had the procedure. They're the experts and they need to be aware of any problems/concerns you have. They'll know best how to treat it and they can settle your nerves about any follow-up treatment to be done.
Best of luck!
as your dentist, he's the one who did the dry socket for you.
If you have dry socket you should go in a few times and have it packed. Normally, there is no charge for this but ask when you make the appointment. Warm salt water wont hurt but instad of swishing with it, just tilt your back and fourth, swishing can cause the socket to dislodge which causes dry socket. If you go to a health food store & get clove oil, dip a q-tip into it then very gently apply that to the gums (not in the socket) around your extraction site- it helps. Try to favor chewing on the other side to keep food out as much as possible. In a few days you should feel a great deal better, just stay on top of it.
I had this exact same thing after having a wisdom tooth out. Keep using the salt water gargle and also you can get some Corsadol mouthwash but only use for a few days and if it stings then water it down. Other than that there is really not much you can do. If you have had the infection removed then you should have some antibiotics so carry on with them and finish them PLEASE. Mine got really bad an took such a long time to heal. If it still feels bad 5 days after them go back and see your dentist - i know it's really expensive but worth it. Just keep you mouth clean and have a rinse every time you eat!! If the pain gets too much then you can have a combination of paracetamol and Ibuprofen.
Good luck - I can feel the pain for you!!! Poor you!!
