Dental question??

Question: I just had a wisdomtooth pulled yesterday..is it normal for it to still be sore and red going up the roof of my mouth? I also sore on the corner of my mouth from this. Should I call the dentist or wait? Does anyone know..it would be greatly appreciated.
Answers: The soreness you describe sounds normal. This may happen for the next week or so. I wouldn't think you need to call him unless the pain is unbearable. The soreness on the corner of the mouth is more than likely due to the pulling and tugging at the corner, from him getting the forceps and instuments into your mouth.

In my office we have a normal protocal for all wisdom teeth extractions, which includes prescribing antibiotics, steriods, and pain meds. We also give a rinse called chlorehexidine to use for about a week following the extraction. He should have at least given you pain meds.
Yes, some soreness is to be expected.. Keep following the post-op instructions and take the meds prescribed and you should be OK.

If you experience unusual pain or it doesn't get better in a week, something might be wrong and it's time for a followup visit with your dentist.

Hope you feel better, and good luck.
