Answers: I'm Singaporean so I can qualified to answer yah? Root-canal treatment or RCT can be rather painful when the nerves are still alive. I've never experienced it but being in the dental line before, I can answer most of your questions. If it's the incisor or canine, it's one root. Pre-molars are two roots and molars have either three or four. RCT usually takes about two visits. First, to remove dead and alive nerves of the same tooth and patch it back temporarily. Second, to fine-clean the area and place a permanent filling. After the whole treatment, you'll be asked to do a crown (tooth) or a bridge (few teeth) to protect your brittle teeth. The pain from RCT depends on your threshold. It should cost you from the region of $350 (incisor) to $900 (molar), depending on the difficulty and which clinic you go to. HDB practice will be cheaper, of course.
I had a root canal when I was 6 it hurts and it dose cost alot.
if this is only for Singapore only, why are you on an English area for Answers... look all the way down on any page and click on 'Singapore'.

Also - a root canal is a root canal - teeth are not any different in Singapore as they are anywhere else. The dentist will remove the root of the tooth, fill it in with gutta purcha (sp?) in order to 'trick' it that it is still 'alive' - you then return back for a post operatory check and eventually you should get a crown on.

Call a dentist in Singapore and ask how much it costs - again it depends on the tooth that needs the root canal, the number of canals, the difficulty of the operation and you as a patient.

The pain lasts until you get freezing and after it will feel better, but you may feel a bit of pressure for a few weeks while the tooth and the area around it heals.
