Has anyone experience tooth sensitivity after getting braces??
Question: Since I've gotten braces a couple days ago everytime i drink anything cold, hot or warm my teeth starts to hurt. How long does it last? how can i treat it?
Answers: I have experienced the same problem too. I have braces now and everytime i get a new wire or bracket my teeth hurt. This normaly lasts from 3 days to 3 weeks depending on the extention of the project .
Though i find my teeth hurt less if i dont use my teeth and drink smoothies and pudding through a straw and other drinks through a straw(lol)
but if you would like your teeth to hurt less time but more soreness through out the days to get it over with then use your teeth as much as possible. it may hurt like hell now but youll like it in 5 days when your better instead of miserable throughout the 3 weeks.
also brush softer with tooth sensitivity toothpaste so your teeth dont hurt.
also consider sucking on candy like your fav. flavor of jolly ranchers or hard candy to take your mind off of it. it tastes good and distracts youu!
good luck!
Nearly everyone gets sensitive teeth when they get braces. I've heard that drinking a lot of cold water will help numb them.
its normal u can talk to ur ortho he/she will tell u what to do and give u things like wax to prevent scratches on the inside of ur mouth
good luck with the braces!
I had braces about a year and a half ago, and you can put wax on them, eat soft foods, eat food cut up in small pieces. It lasts for about two weeks (ish)
Go back to your dentist, he/she can give you a toothpaste that can help with the sensitivity. Good luck with the braces- not to worry you- but i HATED them!! And i had them twice!! Aggghh!!
Good luck!
in a few days
The first week it seems as no matter what you do your teeth will hurt. Just have some Advil and wait it out and you'll be fine...that is until you get them tightened again. But remember in the end it will be all worth it because you will have a beautiful smile =D
