Why and when do wisdom teeth grow in??

Answers: It varies from person to person. Mine came in when I was 16. My husbands never came in. Why we get them, I always thought because our ancestors ate such a harsh diet they needed new teeth that weren't so worn down.
they grow in when you're about 17-25 yrs old.
Usually between 18-21 years. Why? I really don't know.
Wisdom teeth are third molars that usually appear between the ages of 17 and 24 (although they may appear when older, younger, or may not appear at all). They are commonly removed when they affect other teeth— this impaction is colloquially known as coming in sideways.

Wisdom teeth are an example of a vestigial structure. Some argue that recent changes to softer diets which cause less wear on the teeth may be causing the third molars to be less useful, and, in fact, problematic in many humans.
Alternatively, it is possible that wisdom teeth were useful when it was common for humans to lose several teeth to decay by the age when they appear.
not everyone has wisdom teeth, mine never developed. They will usually be in awhile before you hit 20.....
Well, I couldnt tell you why, but the can actually grow at different ages. Yes most typically in the teens or early 20's. But I have seen them come in earlier and later than that. But if you are like me then you dont have wisdom teeth at all and you never will. YAY!!
when you become WISE....DUH!!! LOL, but for real, like around 23, 24 years old (that;s when that life altering situation happens....LIKE KIDS!)
you never know. my mom got them at 24 and a friend of mine's x ray says that they should be coming out within the next year or two and she is 14. it just happends.
