I had 3 cavities filled yesterday and it's rather sesitive now, is that normal??

Question: I feel stupid for asking but i havent had any in a long time and cant remember very well. Its sesitive whenver i drink or try to eat anything on that part of the mouth.
Answers: It can be normal for the first day or two at the most. If it last more then that you should contact your dentist. The fillings can be high and will require the dentist to make small adjustments to make the sensitivity go away. The main thing to remember is that it should start to improve not get worse. If you start having more sensitivity or it gets worse instead of better, call your dentist.
yes, it is perfectly normal. just take some ibprofine. and the pain and sensitivity will lessen. i've had plenty of cavities filled to know what it's like.
yes. you had some major work done on your teeth and your gums are sensitive as it is....It will be sore for a while. Take some Motrin. It works really good for pain.
MANNY,

SOME DISCOMFORT AFTER FILLINGS IS NORMAL.
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?
WHEN A FILLING IS DONE, THE TOOTH IS DRILLED ON, AND THIS CAUSES LOCALIZED TRAUMA TO THE TOOTH.
THE NERVE RESPONDS BY TRYING TO PROTECT ITSELF AND CAUSE THAT SLIGHT INFLAMMATION.
AFTER A FEW DAYS THIS ALL HEALS AND THINGS RETURN TO NORMAL -- AND THE PAIN GOES AWAY.
TAKE SOME IBUPROFEN. THIS MEDICATION HELPS NOT ONLY PAIN, BUT ALSO INFLAMMATION.
yeah its normal. You wont feel any of that in about 2 weeks!
they should be sensitive for a day or two,but check with your dentist again,,,if its continiously repeats then he did not do a good job..and allways ask for a second opinion
