How long does it take for braces to close a gap??
Question: I am getting two teeth removed at the side of my upper jaw (one on each side) and getting braces, can someone tell me how long i should expect it to take to close up the gap.
Answers: It wont take very long for the gap to close (maybe a few weeks, depending on how big the gap is and how tight the braces are) but you will normally have your braces on for about 2 years so your jaw can get use to its new position and stay that way permanently
It depends on your orthodontist and the condition of your teeth. I had braces put on when I was in the 3rd grade, and they didn't come off completely (top and bottom) until the 10th grade. So it could take months, or years. You'll have to ask your orthodontist for an approximate time - but that's only an approximation.
I had four teeth removed for braces, and when I asked my orthodontist how long it would take for the gaps to close, they said they weren't even going to start on getting the teeth together for at least six months. So with mine, I'm guessing it will probably be at least a year.
I think it's a good question to ask your orthodontist. I think it really depends on the person. You will get use to it, they don't look as bad once the braces are on.
depends. ask your ortho, he will know your individual case
hey it may take upto 12 to 18 months to just close the gap but ur treatmen may continue for 2 more year or so
I had braces and they closed off the gaps in about 18 months. It all depends on your set of chompers =D
Well when i got braces the gaps betwen my teeth had started to close by that night. The gaps were almost unnoticable by 2 weeks later. I had to have 7 teeth out and you wouldnt even know now, so dont worry, you really do get results quickly.
For me I was in 2ND grade because on of my top permanent teeth grew in behind the baby tooth. They gap took about a month and a half for it to be permanently closed. It take a day before the gap was noticeably closed.
It could close up really quickly. Mine came together in probably less than one or 2 months.
FOREVER!!
It is all a gimick and expensive pain.
It is the biggest regret of my life.
They have helped rot my teeth and stain them and make me look like a nerd, creating a big gappy space in between my front two teeth. They 'cause severe pain, ulcers, scarring, scratching and bleeding. My teeth were FINE before! They just want to encourage you to give your cash.
