Help with yellow unattractive teeth??

Question: when i was little i took some medicine i dno what but it made my teeth yellow and now that i am 17, i find it very unattractive. Can white strips or anything i can find in a local drug store help restore the once white teeth that i had?
Answers: Sure you could try the white strips. Remember they don't work on caps, crowns or anything, but your regular teeth they should work.
use table salt and bakeing soda IT works and is healing for the gums
You have butter teeth? Make sure it is not tarter build up.When was the last time you went to the dentist? Try the crest strips
those would work fine but just brudh your teeth after every meal and you should be fine
Stains caused by medication are not as easy to get rid of than stains caused by food and drink. You may need porceline veneers to get the look you want. OTC whiteners may help a little but likely not much. I'd see a dentist if I were you to see if there is anything they can do professionally.
Crest white strips work wonders.. You will see a difference after one use. Just make sure not to use them longer the recommended period of time on the box. That can cause your teeth to be very sensitive and is not very good on your enamel...
Baking soda helps. Put it on your toothbrush and just brush your teeth like you normally would. If it is too bad though I would talk to your dentist about maybe having them bleached professionally. I am not at all completely sure that those white strips work (and all the other stuff that says it will make you smile whiter) and they are very expensive, better stick to what you know works.
Unfortunately, those over the counter stuff will not work with your teeth. It sounds like you've had antibiotic stainings usually from doxycycline or tetracycline. Please see a dentist & they will recommend stronger stuff for teeth whitening. There are several options: chemical usage or laser. Chemical usage will whiten the teeth over a period of time (i.e. 6 weeks) but it can corrode your teeth layers as it's usually mild acid. You'll end up with sensitive teeth. Laser whitening is the in thing now. You can see the difference in 2 hours but it cost much more compared to the chemical ones. Please ask the dentist for other options though. I'm sure they've worst medicinal staining on teeth cases...
some teens did a science project on the effectiveness of different over the counter whiteners and crest whitestrips were the best...my teens use them and love them
It's likely that the medication you took was an antibiotic called tetracycline. Any teeth that were developing at the time will have a yellowish stain. Unfortunately, unlike coffee and soda stains, which stain the surface of the tooth, stains from tetracycline are a lot deeper in the tooth structure, so white strips and whitening toothpaste won't have any effect on them. The only way to really solve the problem is to get veneers (thin sheets of porcelain that cover your teeth).
