Canker Sores??

Question: I have a sore on the bottom jaw, right in front of my mouth on my gum. It hurts really bad, and it looks like the skin made a hole. How can I get rid of this sore? How do you get them in the first place?
Answers: Canker sores are shallow, painful sores in your mouth. They are usually red or may sometimes have a white coating over them. You might get them on the inside of your lips, the insides of your cheeks, the base of your gums or under your tongue. Canker sores are different from fever blisters, which usually are on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth.

Anyone can get canker sores, but women people in their teens and 20s get them more often. Canker sores may run in families, but they aren't contagious. Doctors don't know what causes canker sores, but they may be triggered by stress, poor nutrition, food allergies and menstrual periods.

Canker sores usually go away without any treatment. For pain relief, you can try taking ibuprofen (brand name: Advil) or acetaminophen (brand name: Tylenol). Other medicines, such as Anbesol, Oragel, Orabase and Zilactin-B, might keep your canker sores from becoming irritated by eating, drinking or brushing your teeth. You put these medicines right on the sore.

You can also mix equal amounts of Milk of Magnesia and Benadryl Allergy liquid. After it's mixed, you can swish a teaspoonful in your mouth for about 1 minute and then spit it out. If you do this every 4 to 6 hours, your canker sores may hurt less.
They have over the counter preparations at any pharmacy!
you wait. That's about the only way to get rid of them. Don't poke it with your tongue, keep good mouth hygene. Over the counter stuff can help with the pain, some claim to make it heal faster, but eh--there's no proof if they actually work or not.

Some peopel get them, and some people don't. Some people get them a whole lot worse than others.

They're caused by an autoimmune reaction, they're not exactly sure why. They're not contagious, and they don't spread, but irritating them will make them worse.

Edit: Don't listen to people saying to put orange juice or salt on them... That's a great way to irritate an open wound and MAKE IT WORSE.
oracel
gargle with salt water or hydrogen peroxide (Heed the warnings, do not swallow.) Avoid acidic foods for a week. Its just a little cut in the mouth that gets aggravated.
at my othodontist, i was told that screws in my mouth rubbing could cause canker sores. these sores do not go away easily.. because the rubbing wont let it heal. i was told that colgate has good products for canker sores.
cleanse the blood with fresh oranges (a week is good)
drink 1-2 cups of green tea daily
take natures sunshine chinese cleanse to clean the blood
see a homeopath for a special tooth /circulation formula
take olive leaf daily , always

avoid meat esp pig, canola, marg, yeast bread, sugar, peanuts and chemical shampoo
idk how they form but when i get one i usually put a dab of salt directly on it.... it will sting at first but the pain is numbed for a while. its safe to do whenever the pain is uncomfortable....
use orajel and you get them from eating acidic foods or foods that you may be allergic to
These home remedies may help for normal sores. but yours sounds like it's a very bad one - similar to what I get. It's called traumatic ulcers. The best thing to use on this is:

I started using it after my dentist suggested it. It lasts SIX hours. it really helps block the pain and numb it out.
I get these when I've been eating a lot of potato chips or ketchup. I agree with the one answer you got earlier about rinsing with salt water or peroxide. Refrain from eating chips, ketchup, peanuts, anything that's going to irritate the sore. Also, I find Ambesol or Orajel work wonderfully for the pain & seem to speed up the disappearance of these little buggers.
pretty much just have to wait it out. you can buy some anbesol to numb it up but thats all you can do.. Avoid salty foods and dont let your tongue play with it. I get these alot and theres no real good answer to why or how long they last.
