?
Answers: I got my braces and a week ago, and I play trumpet. So I am going through the same thing. Wax really doesnt work very well, sorry. You need to get used to playing with braces even if it does hurt. I came out of band practice and my whole top lip was swollen, but tons of people have brraces and play brass instruments so I guess we'll both get used to it eventually.
You can use dental wax, you can get it at the store with the toothbrushes or you can get some from your orthodontist. It's a really soft wax that you can place over your braces and helps to keep them from tearing up the inside of your mouth. The wax is easy to peel off or brush off your braces when you are done with it.
i had the same problem and its not that bad once you get used to it like after a week the pain goes away!
