How much does a dentist??

Question: Ushally charge for a check up for a person w/ out insurance??
Also What is a good dental insurance??? Something cheap but takes care of almost anything needed??
Answers: An in depth check-up and full mouth X-rays will probably cost you around $170 without insurance.

In my opinion there's no good dental insurance anywhere. On top of the $30 to $60 per month premium most dental insurance has a $50 deductible, a yearly maximum that they pay out of $750 - $1500. Co-insurance for most procedures of 20% - 50% and waiting periods of up to 36 months for major procedures.

I'm an independent health insurance agent and I do not have dental insurance. Instead I have a dental discount fee for service type plan. You can find a plan for around $100 per year here: http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo...

These plans have no deductible, no waiting period, no annual maximums and no pre-existing condition exclusion.

One word of advice before signing up with any dental plan. Make sure to check the dentist provider list and pick a dentist (if you can't find your dentist on the lists). Call the dentist to make sure they're still taking the plan and they're accepting new patients.

Do not confuse dental discount plans with medical discount plans. The medical discount plans are mostly scams.
Ha Ha that is very funny. There are NO cheap insurance and most of them never cover everything, There are dentist out there that will go by your income for a cheaper rate. Find one because without your teeth you will look very funny.
The charge for with insurance must be the same as without insurance. Most of the checkup charge is for x-rays. If it has been a long time you may need more. Plan on $100.
There is no such thing as dental insurance. It is just called that. It is really dental prepayment. If you understand the distinction it will be of enormous benefit to you in all of your insurance decisions.
Insurance companies vary from state to state. If Delta is available in your state it will be the best.
Don't know where you are located. I am in Florida and I have Guardian, but that comes with my job. My boss pays 80% of my dental.
The uninsured pay more than the insured...period.

If you do not have insurance or cannot afford insurance, do what I did. Get a discount plan. If you are only covering yourself it is 11.95 per month and this includes, vision, prescription and chiropractic. If you want health with it, it's a little more. Contact me if you want more info
