Small white painful sore on inside of lip???
Question: It's been there for about a week, and it is NOT a STI or any type of disease. I haven't been eating strange foods lately, and everytime I rub my tongue against the bump it hurts...A LOT. But if I leave it alone, it's fine..
It's on my inner lip, but it's very close to the gums of the top teeth.
Does anybody know what this very painful thing is and how to remedy it? It's not getting any better...at least to me it isn't!

Answers: It sounds like an apthous ulcer. Commonly known as a cold sore. It's caused by a virus, you carry it in your system, then it flares up in times of stress. It will take about 10-12 days
to heal. In the meantime, get an over-the-counter oral pain
medicine with benzocaine in it. They come in liquid or cream
form, and it numbs the sore and makes a protective barrier

Or look on the web foran image of it? A hard lump does not sound like an ulcer.
sounds like maybe a cold sore maybe? shouldn't be anything to worry about too much, i would just give it a few days and it should go away. =)
It sounds like a canker sore. Try rinsing your mouth often, with warm salt water. I used to get those sores too, & an old home remedy, is to put alum on it. Put some on your finger & put it on the sore. (alum is used when canning pickles) They say it works, so it's worth a try.
sounds like a cold sore. form of herpes. very contagious. last about 14 days. there r over the counter products to ease the effects. if it lasts more than 2 weeks, give your doc a call.
