How does this all work??

Question: I just joined this Y-answer and so far think it's great, but not sure exactly how it works. One girl asked me to e-mail her and I have no idea how, do I take her name and add yahoo onto it? Also when someone gives me an answer can I respond to them? And are points just used to pay for questions? Last....When answering questions do you need to be an expert in that field, example a medical question and if no are you responsible/liable if someone takes your advice and something happens to them? Thanks for your help! If there is anything else I didn't ask, but need to know pls feel free to throw it in, this just cost me 5 points! lmao
Answers: To e-mail someone, click on their picture and look to the right to see if there is a link to their e-mail. You will be able to respond through Yahoo!, but it's a pain in the neck as you are limited to how long your reply can be. Be sure to click on the link in the letter to reply and NOT the usual reply button at the top of your e-mail pade.

Points are to pay for questions. That's a good way to put it. Higher levels let you do more things on Yahoo! Answers, also. Click your own points or level (underlined in blue) and you will see the explanation.

It is NICE if someone who is not an expert does not answer the questions, but there are no controls to prevent this. As far as liablity, this is an interesting question. If I were you (or anyone else), I would not take the risk of giving bad advice. If I give serious advice, I also include a disclaimer saying that I have not seen the patient, etc... I doubt anyone could be sued for giving bad advice on this forum, though, because of the nature of the beast. I mean, what lawyer would represent someone who thought they could get a good answer from someone who has never even examined them?
