What is "col" in dentistry. which part of gingiva does it specificly refers??

Answers: Chreece is correct, but it's kind of hard to describe precisely.

If you look in the mirror, you will see that the gum comes to a point between your teeth - both on the inside and the outside. Call the outside point, Point A, and the inside point, Point B.

If you draw a line along the tooth from Point A to Point B, the gum does NOT follow that line. There is a concavity between Point A and Point B and the bottom of that concavity dips towards the roots. This is where periodontal disease gets started most of the time.
The col area is found between 2 teeth. It is a dip or depression usually between premolars or molars. Sort of looks like a crater. Sometimes this is where gum disease can start, because it is a hard area to reach.
