22 mo. old has a bump that I can feel though her cheek... along her lower gum line. About pea sized..What...??
Question: could it be? It doesn't seem to bother her. She had a thyroglossal duct cyst removed in Feb.
Answers: I'm a dentist.
It could be a lot of things. When trying to diagnose a lesion, you have to consider the nature of the lesion itself (size, texture, color, location, etc.), the anatomy in the area (what tissues, structures, cell types, etc.) , as well as the likelihood of finding certain things under certain circumstances.
It could be a hemangioma. They are common in babies, although typically found elsewhere. It could also be an enlarged Stenson's duct opening, or worse, a sialolith (although unlikely). It could be a lot of things.
Take your child to an oral surgeon or an otolaryngologist. They are the two specialists that would be most likely to find an accurate diagnosis.
tooth?
glands that swell up means she got over an infection some time ago.
double check with the dr.
It's just a little cyst. Nothing to worry about! i have them in the same spot. They are non- cancerous and normal.
either a boil on her gum or teeth getting ready to come in.
you can't feel a tooth through the cheek...i would take her to the dr. to get it checked. just to see and be sure, or at least call your dr.
I AM A MOM OF 4 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN....GO GO GO GO TO THE HOSPITAL, NO MATTER WHAT ...BABY IS TOOOOOOOOOOO YOUNG TO BE MESSING WITH.....GO PLEASE........IT DOESN'T MAK YOU A BAD OR STUPID MOM IT'S JUST THAT WE AS MOM'S DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING.......GO...GOD BLESS...
It is probably a dead baby tooth now the gum is infected. This is what happens if you ignore it. Yes even 22 month old babies can have decay to the nerve and the tooth can die. It can cause her adult tooth to be delayed, deformed, or incomplete. Take her to a dentist to get the problem taken care of.
