I'm SO scared!!??
Question: I'm getting my wisdom teeth out next week!! Does it hurt really bad? My roots haven't fully developed. but I'm terrified of surgery procedures..
Answers: the only thing you are going to remember is them telling you to count backwards from 10 and a little stick in the back of your hand. you won't make it to 8!
you'll be a little sore for a couple days but nothing worse you can handle. you'll be given plenty of pain medicine.
the good news is that you get to eat all the icecream and smoothies in the world. just no straws though.
They'll give you a shot to numb it so it won't really hurt. But you can take Tylenol or Advil afterwards.. The shot doesn't hurt..it just feels like a little prick.
You will be fine.
Wait till they one day take out your enitre lower gum and teeth...there is no word that can describe the pain.
It doesn't tickle, that's for sure, but you'll be fine. If they aren't knocking you out for the procedure though, make sure you bring an ipod or something and play the loudest songs you have. (I went with Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell.) The noise is the worst part of the procedure.
expect some brusing and really sore gums. YOu wont feel it until a day or two later.
they will numb you, and sometimes they even put people to sleep when they do it, so you have absolutely no idea that its even happening. and you wont feel anything, they give you enough pain relievers to keep the pain down for days.
Been there done that. I have had all four out. One of them had an unusual 4 roots! And they were all impacted :( Yours don't sound like they are impacted so it shouldn't be a big deal. It shouldn't be any worse than getting a cavity filled. You will have a sore jaw and gum the next day but nothing major. Good Luck!
i would rather have my wisdome teeth out again than get them cleaned.
Try to relax and think of something else while it is being done. Good news is that you won't feel a thing. I will not lie to you though, after the numbness goes away, you will have some soreness. Be brave! It will all be ok and be over before you know it.
You won't know a thing. It doesn't hurt, as you are asleep during the procedure. Follow all the pre-op and post-op instructions and medications and you will do fine.
no it dont i wait almost 4yrs to have my pulled and people was telling me that its going to hurt like hell but my never hurted i was eating frech fries right after the surgery
My wisdom teeth came in about 2 months after my 18th birthday in the hinge of my jaw. I seen a dentist and he scheduled them out the next morning because they were causing me agonizing pain and I could not shut my mouth. I went to oral and maxillofacial surgery associates in Champaign, Illinois. Dr. Jordan got them out. I actually seen Dr. Keen at first, but he didn't have a spot open the next morning and I was in agony.
They stuck an IV in my hand and put me to sleep to pull all 4 of them out. I woke up and it was over. It was painless. I didn't ever take a pain pill. It was wonderful. I wrote them a Thank you note because like you I was terrified, and they made it so easy. I had some holes in my gums and they sent me home with a thing to clean out the holes. I ate normal, drank normal and did everything like nothing happened in my mouth. If you can get an oral surgeon to do that under sedation, thats the way to go. It costs more, but well worth it.
