How would you know if you have an infection if there's no pain???

Question: I know teeth & the ear all go together in the nervous system. But if there's no ache in the tooth how would you know if there's an infection?? No bad taste or breathe which usually comes from mouth infection. But whats the cause for the ear feeling pluged or sound intensity in the ear on the side of the tooth w/ the cavity?
Answers: It is possible to have an infection with no systemic changes like fever, swelling, and etc. If the suspected area has a small blister that pops every other day this is called a draining fistula. It builds up some pressure and releases periodically its a low grade infections that will slowly get larger and larger. Soem people proudly ploclaim yeah I've been raining my tooth for years, I would like to fix it now.

Sorry Guisepee, can't fix that tooth no bone left.
Are you running a low grade fever? That is sign your body is fighting infection.
Blow you nose! That usually works for me, unless it gets really clogged and I have to use my fingers.
other signs of infection are swelling of the wound/infection site, hotness or heat at the site, leaking fluids....
It could be a developing abscess, you should see your dentist
Your ear might just be blocked with wax or something, that would make sounds inside your head (eg. chewing, swallowing, clicking your teeth together) sound much louder than usual.

I wouldn't have thought the symptoms in your ear are linked to the cavity you have, unless there is pain in the ear which can sometimes come from a cavity.

Try dropping some warm olive oil in the affected ear tonight and then stick a little cotton wool in so that the oil doesn't just run out. Leave it in overnight and it will soften any wax, then you can run the shower in your ear in the morning to get rid of any wax that's there.
I just had some fillings done recently, one on a tooth that had actually been broken for well over a year. The dentist asked if I had any toothaches because I just had a tiny infection at the broken tooth. I did not have any pain at all, or any other symptoms that you are describing... They just gave me a presription for an antibiotic to be on the safe side. You can probably get the same.
Good Luck
