Re-straightening teeth with Invisalign??
Question: I had braces for three years, and got them taken off two years ago. I wore my retainer as instructed, but it started to get really tight because of my wisdom teeth forming, so I stopped wearing my retainer all together about a year and a half ago. I got my wisdom teeth taken out last August. I've tried to wear my retainer since then, and I can put both top and bottom on but of course it hurts a LOT because my teeth have shifted a bit (moreso on the bottom than top).
Anyway my question is, do you think I can get Invisalign to re-straighten my teeth? They're not obviously crooked, they've just shifted a bit. I'm also wondering how long you think it will take for it to work-- I'm guessing around 3 months but I'm not sure. Also, how much will this cost? Will I have to pay full price regardless of treatment time?
Thanks in advance!
Answers: You could probably get Invisalign to straighten your teeth again. The cost will depend on exactly how much work you will need.
However, you should take a good look at your teeth and really think for a moment: have your teeth really shifted so much that it's noticeable to anyone other than yourself?
You should also know that teeth naturally shift throughout a person's liftetime. Basically, even if you do straighten out your teeth again, they will most likely shift again.
If you're really that concerned, go to your dentist and get him/her to give you an estimate. He will also be able to answer any other questions that you have.
Good Luck!
If
they hurt try talking to your dentist. I guess you could get invisalign but if they dont look crooked why go through the hassle? Maybe you should just get new reatainers made. That would probably cost a lot less than new braces/invisalign! Hope this helps.
YES FOR MINOR TOOTH MOVEMENTS YOU CAN USE INVISALIGN, BUT REM YOU WILL PAY FULL PRICE. THERE IS ANOTHE ALTERNATIVE AND IT IS CALLED ESSIX TREATMENT. IT IS NOT AS POPULAR, BUT IT IS CHEAPER THAN INVISALIGN AND WORKS JUST AS WELL.
This is a very common problem, invisalign will work for you in about 6 months normally, it will cost around $5000! treatment time does influence cost, but not much, say 20% less.
your old retainers will probably pull your teeth back into line if you persist.
