Wisdom teeth infection constant saliva ???
Question: I just got my wisdom teeth, I notice swelling, pain, constant saliva emerging. so much pain it was hard to swallow. so i went to the destist, and he prescribed me 2 antibiotics 3-5 days supply. however everyday it seems harder and harder for me to swallow. anyone has any suggestions before i see my dentist 3 days from now. suggestions on :
The constant saliva developing and its harmful if i swallow it, my swelling, but dont see any teeth coming out, and if i could have them extracted after i take my antibiotics even though the infection stays ?
Answers: If you've been taking the antibiotics for more than two days and are not seeing any improvement, and if you problem with swallowing is worsening, then you need to contact your dentist immediately. This could be the teeth causing this or the medication. You may need a different or stronger antibiotic and it sounds like you may be having a slight allergic reaction to this one. Even a slight reaction is something that should be evaluated immediately. This is something you need to discuss with your dentist before taking any more of this medication. Good luck with your upcoming extractions.
Additional information: Swallowing your own saliva is not harmful to you. They haven't erutpted and they are infected? Are you sure it's not the teeth in front of these that are infected? I think you should discuss these symptoms with the dentist who is treating you.

You probably have an infection, yes. The antibiotic will help that after you have taken it AS PRESCRIBED for about 3 days. Your dentist probably will not extract the teeth until the infection is gone, if he did it would be some of the worst pain you have felt.( The Dr. doesnt want that for you or him...trust me) Just hang in there for a few days, take the med as prescribed, keep your mouth as clean as possible, and in a day or so you might notice the swelling reduce. The swelling is most likely from the infection. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
