I think my teeth are ugly & yellow, but I can't use whitestrips b/c my front two teeth have bonding.??

Question: I can't have it done chemically by the dentist though either....too expensive! The bonding was done when I was 8, so it isn't the greatest of dental jobs. What do I do????
Answers: It sounds like your bonding must be something like 10-15 years old. Go ahead and whiten your teeth and after you are done, have your old and yellowing bonding replaced with a matching shade.
Do not do it! I used it (for no reason, I guess just to get them as white as possible). They made my gums hurt like hell, seriously. And it says on the box that it can cause sensitivity to gums, but I didn't know it was like that... My gums were almost literally killing me for a week, and I felt terrible. The strips suck. And they don't work at all, waste of money. Get it done professionally, that way, if you aren't satisfied you can ask them to fix it while you're there. Good luck!
Well sorry to say, there might not be to much you can do. Your right, that bonding will not bleech. One suggestion is use the crest white stips until your other teeth get to the desired whiteness you want, then go have your dentist redo the composite bond on the front 2 teeth to match the others. composite (tooth colored) bonding usully runs around 50 - 75 dollars depending on the dentist. Then atleast you wont have to spend as much money as to do all your upper teeth.
the bonding can be changed woth new material and then your teeth might look better.Professional cleaning by the dentist will halp too.
talk to your dentist hes the only one that can give you a good answer
The white strips don't change your teeth dramatically or overnight. Use them and it will lighten your teeth a bit-but don't expect really white teeth-that only comes from the bleaching the dentist does. The other answerer was right about the gum sensitivity and pain-I experienced that as well. If you do -the best thing to do is not bleach just after brushing-wait a few hours so your gums are not as sensitive. Another thing to remember is when you bleach the top part of your teeth will be darker than the bottom-this is because the strips don't cover the upper back part of your teeth when you fold them over. Therefore-if your bonding is at the bottom of your teeth your teeth will then be even. Again, the difference of the whitening of your teeth is NOT dramatic, when you use white strips you will not have lily white teeth -it will be more of a cream colour.
