Anyone had braces here??

Question: i have my ortho job this sat, I have complete set of teeth, my first dentist said, no need to extract but my 2nd dentist said, she should extract one/two teeth, she even said my teeth crooked because I had too many? I choose the dentist who didn't extract any teeth, im just worried if i will have wide jaw and make my smile worse?
Answers: The options for me 4 yrs ago & with the same dentist were: 1) Keep all teeth & have jaw widened to make room & align teeth. OR 2) Extract 4 teeth & then align.
#1 is becoming a more common procedure nowadays because it actually enhances your profile (the view of the side of your face). It is pretty amazing if you look further into the procedure. A drawback is it takes a bit longer than option #2. I was in my mid-twenties at the time & impatient--I wanted my teeth straightened quickly now that I was able to afford having it done. I chose Option # 2. The spaces where my teeth were extracted never fully closed, but it isn't that noticeable. I'm happy!!
My son had braces and they removed two of his teeth and it's not even noticeable. His mouth was to small for all of his teeth, it would have been impossible for his teeth to straighten without removing the teeth.
I had braces and I had 8 teeth removed, 4 from the back and the 4 wisdoms, I also had too many teeth. It is a good idea to get them removed because it makes room for the crooked teeth to get straight and it looks better. My wisdom teeth were removed so that they don't eventually grow and push my teeth out of place.
I now have really straight teeth and people never know that I had braces.
If they dont remove teeth that means that they are usually going to bring your teeth forward to allow space for the extra teeth. If they take out your teeth they will move the teeth back so that they are not that crowded. I chose to get teeth extracted so that it would be easier to close my mouth....People say i have a beautiful smile, dayly, it just depends on the person, and teh shape of ur jaw and teeth
i had braces before. i also had 4 wisdom teeth taken and 4 adult teeth somewhere in the middle of the line up also removed. I was told that they were removed so teeth wouldn't collide, cause pain and make my smile awkward. I don't know if it's true. But everything looks fine. I never had to wear a head gear also because i removed those teeth. It made things a lot easier.
It would be nice but the best thing to do is have some removed. I have 4 removed before I got my braces and then when my wisdom teeth came in my teeth got crooked again and I had to have braces again later in life. I would have teeth removed and my wisdom teeth also if you haven't already. If you don't as you age your teeth with just move and cause more trouble.
I have braces for the 2nd time. If you need them get them they will help in the long run. I had the appliance put in that widens the mouth it is uncomfortable but it does make room for your teeth and helps with allergies. If you do widen your jaw which most orthos do now you can tell the difference but other people cant. I have a tmj problem and if it was not for braces I would be in surgery to try!! and fix the problem. Take care of your self.
