What happens after fillings??
Question: hey - well im going to have a small filling in like 4 hours and im really worried about after its done- will it really hurt afterwards? will i be able to bite with it normally? goin on holiday in 2 weeks so need it to get better before then.
thanks lot
Answers: It is uncomfortable while its being done. Might ache - slight throb for a few hours afterwards. That's all no worries.
(Anyone who tells you differently is just being a wanker and trying to scare you - they think it is funny - ignore them.)
Only a pussy would call it real pain - you listening Jacsmith_xxx ?
its gona hurt like hell for week s dont beleive any one who says differntly and it will probably get infected but that goes after about three months
Minor soreness the rest of the day, tomorrow it won't hurt at all.
The only thing that sucks about fillings is the freezing. Just put a warm cloth on your face and take an Advil and it will go away in a couple hours. You'll be fine by tomorrow morning.
Sometimes they're a little sore for a day or so but that's about it. It's not a big deal.
I just had my front teeth rebuilt because of fillings in my front teeth, it didn't hurt at all, it's just annoying when the novacaine is wearing off. I'm having a root canal done in two weeks...that's not even painful, it depends on your dentist though.
If it really is small then it shouldn't hurt afterward.
White fillings tend to hurt more than silver ones because the chemicals in the white fillings are irritating to the dental pulp. You can have problems from a filling immediately after it is placed or several years after it is placed. Teeth are funny that way.
Although it is now after you had the filling done, I can tell you that you are probably fine! If it was really small, you might not have even been numbed up. If you were then after the anesthetic wears off you should be completely fine. If you feel like you are biting on this tooth before the rest of your teeth or feel like something is off, then you need to go back and have a bite adjustment. This is a concern with white fillings but not if you had the silver or amalgam kind.
I am sure you realized that there was nothing to it! And most importantly you will be fine for your holiday. You shouldnt eve be able to tell that you had anything done.
thanks lot
