How long do you have to wait for your braces to stop hurting??
Question: I just got braces a week ago and it still hurts a little. I just got them on the bottom teeth. Usually how long does it take for the pain to go away?
Answers: it depends on how bad they were and how tight the orthodontist put them on at first-- my teeth wernt bad at all and it took about 2 weeks for it to stop but about 1 month before i could eat 100% normally again-- but that is a really long time for this type of thing-- it will probably take a few more days
It should go away soon...and they also hurt for a day or so after the dentist tightens them..
id say about 3 days. thats how it is for me
its takes a while before u start getting used to them...dont worry soon ull be fine....maybe take motrin or something.
don't worry, as soon as it feels better, they'll tighten them again and it will hurt again...it's the pressure needed to move the teeth into the correct position...the price you will pay for straight teeth, and it won't stop until treatment is through
it hurt me for 3 whole weeks. i was jus on soft diet and liquids.
It hurts only the time they took to unhook it from your girlfriend/boyfrends braces
you should take advil or some other drug to make the pain go away. and it also depends on how bad your teeth are. Well i just got mine off 3 months ago and the pain was horable. but it is totally worth it in the end so, hang in there!! :)
I found that it helped to chew on something like a baby's teething toy. The pain went away faster than trying to wait it out. It's one of those hurts so good kind of things. I had braces for nearly 3 years and after every tightening I would take a few hours to chew on the ring and it would go away. Sucks but think of the wonderful smile you'll have!
My friend has braces so most likely 3 days or a week.
