Calling all dentists???

Question: About how much does it cost to have your teeth professionally whitened -or- have them painted whiter with enamel? Thank you.
Answers: Professional whitening is much stronger than the over-the-counter products sold in stores...because a dentist can monitor you to make sure the solution doesn't harm your sensitive gum tissue or cause other problems.

Take-home bleaching trays can be anywhere for $150 US to $300. Watch for dentists giving them away as a promotion to new patients, or for referring your friends.

Zoom or Bright Smile are brands of light-activated bleaching solutions. You have them done in about two hours in the dental chair, rather than wearing trays for several days. It's faster, but studies are showing they don't work all that much better than the take-home kind.

The light activated kinds start about $500 and go up from there. I personally don't think it's worth the additional cost to have instant results.

Most of these products make your teeth more sensitive (while you are using them), so a good fluoride treatment or desensitizing toothpast can help.

I have never heard of painting teeth whiter with enamel. However, we do the Zoom system in my office and it is $595.00 and the take home trays are $495.00. I am not all that impressed with the results of the Zoom but I know others who swear by it. You could also get porcelain veneers done and have really white and straight teeth. They are about $850.00 to 900.00 a tooth though. Crest white strips seem to work pretty good, not as good as dental office strength though but are alot cheaper.
