Question: I was running, doing laps around a soccer field and would like to know how many miles I did. I ran 16 laps, each lap seemed slightly longer than a 1/4 mile (maybe a 1/3?).

so if you just run around the perimeter (in a rectangular path), you're doing 0.18 miles per lap.
