How long should each gym session be??

Question: Im going to start going to the gym at uni, 2-3 times a week, depending on work.
Answers: Good for you mate.
If its for general fitness 30-40mins is fine.Try and use the rowing machine it will exercise you all over.Do try and do some resistance training(small weights) this will build up your bones for later in life preventing the risk of osteoporosis(brittle bones)
Good luck in the gym (and at uni)
depends what you are doing. a weight session can be from half an hour to 2 hours. cv can be for as long as you can last.

a good time is an hour of weights and 20-30 mins cv at the end.
30 minutes
each session in the gym should be about 45 minutes 3 to 4 times a week and you should develope a routen and work on different parts of your body at each session so that you wont get board and want to quit.
It depends. if you wanna loose weight you should work out at least two ours a day. on the other hand if you just want to keep fit i believe that one our is just fine.
40 minutes up to 50 would be great for one session. This includes warming, exercising and final stretching.
My sessions are 30 minz on the recumbant exercycle, up to 1 hour weightlifting, then 20-30 minutes running, either 3 miles on the beach or 30 on the the treadmill. I streach before I start, and right after I take my shower when I'm done.

The first 30 on the bike burns up your blood sugar, so you will have to burn fat as energy while lifting and running. The run at the end seems to burn up the lactic acid in the rest of my body, so I seem to ache less. When lifting, I do 3 sets of 10 repititions, or 30 movements per exercise.
If your trying to build muscle mass, then no more than an hour.
And be sure to have at least 48 hours rest between workouts
