Do not feel strain after a few reps of weight training. Problem??
Question: When i weight train or do crunches, after a few sets or if i get past 30 reps when doing crunches (i do 4 sets of 50 reps) i stop feeling the strain on the muscles which im working out.
For instance...when after around 30 reps, i no longe feel the strain on my abs, i it starts to feel like im working out my leg.
Also after i do soe dumbell curls, it stops feeling my biceps are getting any work, instead it starts to feel like my forearm is getting worked out.
Answers: 1) slow down your reps
2) lower the reps and up the weight
3) watch your form and be sure you are isolating the muscles properly with your movements
3) break up the crunches into MAX sets of 20 or 30, and vary the type of ab work you do (just straight crunches don't target enough)
If you are feeling the crunches in your legs that means you are doing them wrong. What normally happens is that a person gets tired and they start getting lazy with their form. I would recommend dropping the number of reps and really concentrate on your form. You aren't doing yourself any good by continuing what you are doing. I would also recommend doing different ab exercises just to change up your routine.
The same goes for your curls. Sounds like you are losing your form due to fatigue. Drop the reps and concentrate on keeping your wrists straight. I am willing to bet that you bend your wrists when you do curls so you end up doing forearm exercises instead of working your bicep.
