Why people turn Vegetarian??
Question: Do they not know that it's called the law of nature Ecosystem , and they should know better than to forbid what God had allowed. Animals specialy the ones we consume reproduce at a much higher rate than humans and in a matter of a year if they are not consumed they could reach 10 times their population. If animals are not consumed they will consume all the natural resources of vegetable and will end up hangry and neither they nor we could live more than 10 years in this planet
Answers: People turn to vegetarian because they r afraid with their re-birth.(A Animal)
for diet
brainwashing cults
they don't approve of the slaughter of animals for food
people do that to be cool..they're stupid.
hmm...worth thinkin...where did you bang your head?
Once you get to age 30, you no longer need to eat that much; or you would get a big belly.
OK well this is easy i use to be one and its was grate but the reason y is because some ppl believe that eating animals are wrong but i grew out of it and ppl can be very sensitive about it so be careful
Why do people become vegetarian?

They munch on carrots, eat tofu, and throw veggie burgers on the grill. Vegetarians and quasi-vegetarians are taking America by storm. No longer longhaired hippies wasting away on brown rice, today's vegetarians sample a wide variety of familiar and ethnic dishes. But how did they come to the decision to lead a meatless lifestyle? Jupiter Rising, a newsletter for new vegetarians, recently asked 100 readers and other vegetarians that very question. The results shed light on the motivations of people who eliminate meat from their diets.
Of the 100 polled, 72 vegetarians stated that they gave up meat because they thought it was ethically wrong to eat animals. Chickens, for instance, are forced to live in cages too small to be comfortable, in long windowless sheds with poor sanitation. They are debeaked and made to lay eggs continuously. When their egg production declines, they are sent to the slaughterhouse and killed to become someone's fried chicken dinner.
The other 25 vegetarians listed health reasons as their deciding factor in giving up meat. Animal products contain fat and cholesterol, which is exactly what today's health conscious person does NOT want to eat. Chickens, pigs and cows are fed growth hormones and antibiotics, which end up in the packaged meat at the supermarket.
Three vegetarians gave responses in the 'other' category. Most cited environmental factors in their decision to become vegetarian. Forests are cut down to provide food and grazing land for meat animals, valuable ecosystems that help sustain our planet and provide habitats for wild, often endangered, animals.
Forty-four percent of vegetarians surveyed gave up eating meat gradually, while fifty-six percent gave up their turkey cold turkey, most because of a realization of how ethically wrong it is to eat meat. The first kind of meat most gradual vegetarians gave up was beef (73%), the last was fish.
This informal study sheds some valuable insight into the reasoning behind the newest path to better health, vegetarianism
To be more healthier. Especially, businessman, eatting meat ounside in easier than eating vegetable, so it's a must to get balance diet.
there is so many 'animal-farms' - i think we could easily live with less and there would be no harm to the environement...
the way we treat animals is probably not the way that god would have wanted us to neither....
People become vegetarians to better their diet. Vegetables are easier to break down in your stomach; meat takes longer to digest...it's just basically sitting there. That's why they only eat veggies, it's easier to digest. The thought of food just sitting in their stomach for days still not digested is sickening.
some people do it for health, feeling that meat, and the hormones injected in to it, is not good for them. Others, like me, do it, not because they feel we shouldn't eat animals, but to protest the way in which food animals are treated. The life of some of these animals is painful and unpleasant. The argument that animals don't know any better and don't care is ridiculous to me. I do eat meat now, but I try to shop organic and free range. There is no reason for the animals to suffer during life and then be killed in an inefficient and often incomplete manor. Many beef cows are stunned but still alive when they are being skinned.
Humans are not required by nature to check the growth of all the animals of the world, while humans have themselves put rabbits to shame. The biggest mistake of nature was to have created humans & it programmed them to be self-destructive for the betterment of this planet. Humans are destined to destroy themselves in a War of their own making & then probably nature would come up with a better alternative like humans were to dinosaurs.
As far as the logic that if all become vegetarian, life would not continue for more than 10 years, I can assure you that life has been continuing on this panet much before humans were introduced in the system. It's not humans who are running this planet, it is the other way round. If the world temperature rises by a mere 10-20 degrees celsius, the all powerful human race will fall like a pack of cards. Humans are just a part in the nature's scheme of things.

Well if people did not consume farm raised animals such a pigs, cows, turkeys, and chickens I guess farmers would stop breeding their livestock huh... Most of these animals are placed together for the purpose of breeding then removed. If all humans stopped consuming animals there would be no need to raise crops to feed these animals there for the grains that were once grown for livestock now could be consumed by people, possibly ending hunger. Animals that are consumed now a days a feed with so much hormones and un-natural items I would think that that would be enough not to wan to eat them, plus all the disease they can have such as mad cow disease and now avian bird flu that is expect to reach the USA all the way to California by 2008. Look around how many young children are getting acne really early in their stage of life, I talking like 10-12 year olds, hormones hum.....And young girls getting their periods as early as 8 years old, why would you but your child through that, WHY! A doctor recenlty did a study on 100 women who ate a strict vegitarian diet, all of those women reported regular periods, no cramps, no mood swings, wow and all because they don't eat meat, I would think the other ladies in the world would want to do this too.
Vegetarians often live a healthier life, live longer, have reduced risks for chronic disease, maintain a healthier body weight. Eating meat increases your chance of having heart disease, high blood pressure, and higher risk for cancer! Eating a vegetarian diet lowers all these chances.
Also the fact of how these animals have to live before their suffering is ended should be enough, why should an animal have to lose its life so you can enjoy a minute of yours by eating it. Eating meat is cannibalism.
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judge by how it's animals are treated

Personally I became a vegetarian because vegetarians have lower rates of heart disease, diabetese, hypertension, cancer, macular degeneration, alzheimers, gall-bladder disease... (the list goes on). Issues like animal rights had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. My decision was based totally on health issues. What I would like to know is why so many people like you assume that all vegetarians are animal rights activist.
