Do performance enhancers really work??

Question: I am looking to gain a basketball scholarship, I want to be faster, stronger and improve my verticle, does performance enhancers work? And if so do they make you look bulky. Do they work for women. Where can i find them for cheap?
Answers: Don't do it! What will happen to your scholarship when you are tested and your so-called performance enhancer is on a list of forbidden substances???????

Lift weights, monitor your eating habits so you will know whether carbs or proteins need to be adjusted and practice practice practice!

When I played high school Bball, our coach told us to stay away from birth control pills. she would always say they make you slow and weak and bloated.

of course i have never been able to find any documentation to support this.

please stay away from the performance enhancers, ok?
assuming you're talking about legal enhancers like creatine, NO, energy boosts, etc, then yes they do work. but performance enhancers on their own are more useful for improving your workouts...more energy/concentration -> lift more..longer. as far as getting faster/stronger/jumping higher, do sprint training and other explosive strength exercises. deadlifts are another great way to get speed. they strengthen up your core since you really need your whole body to do the things you want.
Some of them work for some people. Results will definitely vary. The best things for you to improve your performance is to exercise regularly, including strength training, plyometric training, and aerobic and anaerobic (long distance and sprint) cardiovascular training. Also pay good attention to your diet. Make sure you are taking in enough protein daily to help your muscles recover. I've tried lots of supplements over the 20 years I have been involved with fitness, by far the best bang for the buck if protein supplementation. Good luck!
